Starting in Ahmedabad, you will explore landmarks that reflect the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi alongside Indo-Islamic and stepwell architecture. The route then leads through the wildlife landscapes of Dasada, the heritage attractions of Rajkot, and the deeply revered temple cities of Dwarka and Somnath. A coastal break in Diu adds a refreshing contrast, while the sacred ascent of Palitana and the archaeological remains of Lothal complete the experience. Day 1: Arrive Ahmedabad
Upon arrival at Ahmedabad Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take time to relax and recover from your journey. Ahmedabad, one of Gujarat’s most vibrant cities, offers a beautiful blend of tradition, culture, and modern energy. Day 2: Ahmedabad Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, begin your city tour of Ahmedabad. Visit Sabarmati Ashram, the peaceful home of Mahatma Gandhi and an important center of India’s freedom movement. Continue to Jama Masjid, admired for its elegant Indo-Islamic architecture, and then visit Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, famous for its delicate stone latticework and the iconic Tree of Life jali. Later, explore Adalaj Stepwell, a beautiful five-story stepwell known for its intricate carvings and historical significance. Day 3: Ahmedabad – Dasada / Bajana
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Dasada covering approx. 95 kms / 2–3 hours. En route, visit the Modhera Sun Temple, a magnificent temple dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, and admired for its carved pillars and sacred tank. Continue to Rani ki Vav in Patan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest stepwells, known for its remarkable sculptures and architectural brilliance. Proceed to Dasada / Bajana and check in at the hotel or camp. The evening is free to relax in the calm surroundings of the Little Rann region. Overnight at hotel in Dasada / Bajana.
Day 4: Dasada – Little Rann of Kutch – Rajkot
Early in the morning, enjoy a shared gypsy safari in the Little Rann of Kutch with a naturalist. This unique landscape is known for its salt plains, birdlife, and the endangered Asiatic wild ass. After the safari, return for breakfast and continue your drive to Rajkot covering approx. 160–180 kms / 4–5 hours, depending on safari timing and route conditions. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Later, explore the cultural highlights of Rajkot including Watson Museum, Rotary Dolls Museum, and Kaba Gandhi No Delo, the childhood home of Mahatma Gandhi. Overnight at hotel in Rajkot.
Day 5: Rajkot – Dwarka
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Dwarka covering approx. 230 kms / 4–5 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and freshen up. Dwarka is one of India’s most sacred cities and holds deep significance in Hindu mythology as the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. Begin your sightseeing with the Dwarkadhish Temple, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna. Continue to Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and then visit Rukmini Devi Temple, known for its spiritual importance and elegant architecture. Return to the hotel after a day of devotion and discovery. Overnight at hotel in Dwarka.
Day 6: Dwarka – Somnath
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Somnath covering approx. 230 kms / 5–6 hours via Porbandar. En route, visit Kirti Mandir, the birthplace memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, and Sudama Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna’s childhood friend. Continue to Somnath and check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and among the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India. You may also explore the nearby Suraj Mandir and Paanch Pandav Caves if time permits. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual and serene. Overnight at hotel in Somnath.
Day 7: Somnath – Diu
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Diu covering approx. 90 kms / 2 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Diu offers a refreshing contrast to the temple circuit with its coastal scenery, relaxed pace, and Portuguese heritage. Later, begin sightseeing with Diu Fort, which offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, followed by St. Paul’s Church, known for its elegant baroque architecture. Continue to Naida Caves and Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple, a unique coastal shrine set among seaside rocks. Overnight at hotel in Diu.
Day 8: Diu – Bhavnagar via Palitana
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Bhavnagar covering approx. 160–180 kms / 4–5 hours. En route, visit Palitana, one of the holiest Jain pilgrimage destinations in the world. The climb to the temples of Shatrunjaya Hill is a spiritually rewarding experience, with hundreds of exquisitely carved Jain temples spread across the summit. After exploring this sacred complex, continue to Bhavnagar and check in at the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax after your spiritual ascent. Overnight at hotel in Bhavnagar.
Day 9: Bhavnagar – Lothal – Ahmedabad Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, drive back to Ahmedabad covering approx. 170 kms / 4 hours. En route, visit Lothal, one of the most important archaeological sites of the Indus Valley Civilization. Explore the ancient dockyard, museum area, and the remains that reveal the sophistication of early urban life in India. Continue to Ahmedabad and transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Your tour concludes with unforgettable memories of Gujarat’s temples, stepwells, sacred cities, and ancient heritage.
