Bangalore to Belur and Halebid
This 2-day tour takes you through Karnataka’s rich temple heritage and architectural wonders. Begin with a scenic drive from Bangalore to Shravanabelagola to witness the towering Gommateshwara Bahubali Statue, one of the tallest monolithic statues in the world. Continue to Hassan and explore the Hoysala masterpieces including Chennakeshava Temple and Hoysaleswara Temple. Day 1: Bangalore – Shravanabelagola – Hassan (200 km / 4–5 hrs drive)
Begin your journey with a pick-up from your hotel or airport in Bangalore and drive towards Hassan, covering approximately 200 kilometers in around 4 to 5 hours. En route, visit Shravanabelagola, one of the most important Jain pilgrimage centers in India. Climb the hill to witness the magnificent Gommateshwara Bahubali Statue, a 58-foot monolithic statue carved from a single granite block. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from the hilltop. After the visit, continue your drive to Hassan and check into your hotel. The evening is at leisure to relax or explore the local surroundings. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Hassan – Belur – Halebid – Bangalore (250 km / 6–7 hrs drive)
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed for an excursion to Belur and Halebid. Begin the city tour at Chennakeshava Temple in Belur, renowned for its exquisite Hoysala architecture and detailed carvings depicting scenes from mythology and daily life. Continue to Halebid to visit the grand Hoysaleswara Temple, known for its intricate sculptures and serene surroundings. You may also visit nearby temples such as Kedareshwara Temple and explore the tranquil Hulikere Tank. After completing the sightseeing, drive back to Bangalore, covering approximately 250 kilometers in around 6 to 7 hours. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel or airport, marking the end of your tour.
