Day 1: Bhubaneshwar – Drive to Bhitarkanika National Park (Approx. 170 kms / 4–5 hrs drive)

Begin your journey with a pick-up from your hotel in Bhubaneshwar and drive towards Bhitarkanika National Park, enjoying a scenic route through rural Odisha. The drive takes approximately 4 to 5 hours and offers glimpses of village life, agricultural fields, and traditional landscapes.

En route, visit the ancient Buddhist heritage sites of Ratnagiri, Udaigiri, and Lalitgiri, collectively known as Odisha’s “Diamond Triangle.” Explore the remains of monasteries, stupas, and intricately carved sculptures that reflect the region’s rich spiritual and historical significance.

Continue your drive to Bhitarkanika and upon arrival, check in at your jungle resort or eco-cottage surrounded by natural greenery. The serene environment and sounds of the forest create a peaceful atmosphere.

Day 2: Bhitarkanika Exploration – Drive to Similipal Tiger Reserve (Approx. 130 kms / 3–4 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your exploration of Bhitarkanika National Park with a boat safari through its intricate mangrove ecosystem. Navigate through narrow creeks bordered by dense mangrove vegetation while observing estuarine crocodiles basking along the banks.

The park is also a haven for birdlife, and you may spot kingfishers, herons, and other migratory birds. Visit the Bagagahan Bird Sanctuary and climb the watchtower to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding forest and wetlands.

You may also visit the Crocodile Interpretation Centre at Dangamal to learn more about the region’s unique wildlife. After completing the exploration, return to your resort for refreshment.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin your return journey to Bhubaneshwar. The drive covers approximately 250 kilometers and takes around 6 to 7 hours, passing through forested regions and rural landscapes.

En route, you may take short breaks to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings. The journey offers a final opportunity to absorb the natural beauty of Odisha’s countryside.
