Day Tour: Chennai – Tirupati – Sri Kalahasti – Chennai (Approx. 300 km round trip / 9–10 hrs)
After early morning pick-up from your hotel in Chennai, begin your drive to Tirupati (approx. 135 km / 3–4 hrs), enjoying a comfortable journey through highways and rural landscapes. Upon arrival, proceed to Tirumala Hills, where the sacred Sri Venkateswara Temple is located. Begin the temple visit and experience the divine surroundings of one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India.
For NRI travelers, there is a separate counter facility at Tirumala for on-the-spot Sheeghra Darshan tickets, subject to availability. NRIs are required to present their valid original passport and visa at the designated NRI counter to avail this facility. This allows relatively faster darshan compared to general queues, though waiting time may still vary depending on crowd conditions. It is advisable to carry all original documents and reach early for smoother processing.
For other travelers, darshan can be arranged through advance booking (recommended via official temple website), or subject to availability on arrival. Spend time in the temple complex, observe rituals, and soak in the spiritual ambiance.
After completing darshan, proceed for lunch at a local restaurant (optional). Later, begin your drive to Sri Kalahasti (approx. 40 km / 1–1.5 hrs). Visit the famous Sri Kalahasti Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and known as the Vayu (Air) temple among the Pancha Bhoota temples. The temple is especially significant for Rahu-Ketu dosha pujas and the legend of Kannappa Nayanar. Explore the temple complex and experience its serene and spiritual environment.
