Cochin to Munnar, Thekkady & Alleppey

Day 1: Cochin – Munnar (140 km / 4–5 hrs drive)

Upon arrival at Cochin Airport, you will be greeted and begin your scenic drive to Munnar, covering approximately 140 kilometers in around 4 to 5 hours. The drive takes you through winding roads, waterfalls, and lush green landscapes of the Western Ghats. En route, enjoy stops at viewpoints and cascading waterfalls. Upon arrival in Munnar, check into your hotel and relax amidst the serene hill station atmosphere. In the afternoon, visit a tea plantation to learn about tea cultivation and processing, followed by a tea tasting session. Enjoy the cool climate and scenic beauty of the region. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, begin the city tour of Munnar. Visit Pothamedu Viewpoint offering panoramic views of tea, coffee, and spice plantations. Continue to Mattupetty Dam and enjoy optional boating in the serene reservoir. Proceed to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and rolling grasslands. Later, visit Echo Point known for its natural echo phenomenon and the Indo-Swiss Dairy Farm. In the afternoon, explore the Tea Museum to understand the region’s tea heritage. Return to the hotel after a full day of sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Munnar – Thekkady (110 km / 3–4 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Thekkady, covering approximately 110 kilometers in around 3 to 4 hours. En route, enjoy scenic views of hills, valleys, and plantations, and visit Ramakkalmedu viewpoint offering panoramic views of the Western Ghats. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, visit a spice plantation where you will learn about the cultivation of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, and other spices. You may also explore the local market for spice shopping. Evening at leisure to enjoy cultural shows (optional). Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Thekkady Wildlife Experience

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a nature walk in the forests of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary accompanied by a trained guide. Experience the rich biodiversity of the region while observing flora and fauna. Later, enjoy a unique bamboo rafting or river crossing experience (subject to availability). In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari on Periyar Lake, where you may spot elephants, bison, deer, and various bird species along the banks. The tranquil boat ride offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Return to the hotel in the evening and relax. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Thekkady – Alleppey (135 km / 4 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Alleppey, covering approximately 135 kilometers in around 4 hours. Upon arrival, board your traditional houseboat for an unforgettable backwater cruise. Cruise through the serene waterways of Alleppey, passing through palm-fringed canals, paddy fields, and local villages. Enjoy freshly prepared lunch and dinner on board, featuring authentic Kerala cuisine. Relax on the deck while witnessing the peaceful rural life and stunning sunset over the backwaters. Overnight stay on houseboat.

Day 6: Alleppey – Cochin (60 km / 1.5 hrs drive)

After breakfast on the houseboat, disembark and drive back to Kochi, covering approximately 60 kilometers in around 1.5 hours. If time permits, begin a short city tour of Cochin including Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, and Mattancherry Palace. Later, transfer to Cochin Airport or hotel for your onward journey. The tour concludes with beautiful memories of Kerala’s landscapes and experiences.
