Hubli to Badami & Hampi UNESCO WHS Tour

Day 1: Arrive Hubli – Drive to Badami (105 km / approx. 3 hrs)

Upon arrival at Hubli airport, you will be met by our representative and begin your drive to Badami, the former capital of the Chalukya dynasty. The drive passes through rural Karnataka landscapes dotted with small villages and farmland. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and freshen up. Later, begin sightseeing with a visit to the famous Badami Cave Temples, a complex of rock-cut caves dedicated to Hindu and Jain deities, showcasing intricate carvings and sculptures. Continue to Badami Fort, perched on a hill, offering panoramic views of the town. Conclude the day with a visit to Agastya Lake, surrounded by red sandstone cliffs and ancient temples. Return to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Badami – Aihole – Pattadakal – Drive to Hampi (145 km / approx. 4 hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Aihole, often referred to as the “cradle of Indian temple architecture.” Explore a vast complex of early Chalukyan temples including Durga Temple, Lad Khan Temple, and Ravanaphadi Cave. Continue to Pattadakal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its harmonious blend of North and South Indian temple styles. Visit major temples including Virupaksha, Sangameshwara, and Papanatha Temple. After completing the sightseeing, proceed to Hampi through scenic terrain marked by rocky landscapes and boulder formations. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Hampi – Full Day UNESCO Site Exploration

After breakfast, begin the city tour of Hampi, one of India’s most remarkable archaeological sites. Visit the iconic Virupaksha Temple, an active temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Continue to the Vittala Temple complex, famous for its stone chariot and musical pillars. Explore the Royal Enclosure including Mahanavami Dibba, King’s Balance, and stepped tanks. Visit Hazara Rama Temple, known for Ramayana carvings, and admire the massive Ugra Narasimha statue. Continue to Lotus Mahal and Elephant Stables showcasing Indo-Islamic architecture. Spend time exploring the vast ruins and absorbing the grandeur of the Vijayanagara Empire. Return to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Hampi – Gadag – Lakkundi – Hubli Departure (190 km / approx. 5 hrs)

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Hubli. En route, visit Gadag to explore the Trikuteshwara Temple, known for its unique architectural style and intricate carvings. Continue to Lakkundi, famous for its ancient temples and stepwells. Visit Kashi Vishveshwara Temple, a fine example of Chalukyan craftsmanship, and explore the beautifully carved stepped wells that reflect advanced water management systems. After completing sightseeing, continue your drive to Hubli. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. End of tour.
