Day 1: Dimapur to Kohima (70 kms / approx. 3 hrs)

Upon arrival at Dimapur airport, meet your driver and guide and begin your scenic drive to Kohima. The route passes through rolling hills, terraced fields, and forested stretches that introduce you to the beauty of Nagaland. On arrival, stop at the Kohima War Cemetery, a beautifully maintained memorial that stands as a quiet tribute to the soldiers of the Second World War. If time permits, visit the Kohima Cathedral, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, known for its peaceful setting and distinctive architecture. Check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, enjoying your first glimpse of Naga life and culture. Overnight at hotel in Kohima.

Day 2: Kohima City Tour

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Kohima with visits to the Nagaland State Museum, where traditional tribal ornaments, ceremonial weapons, textiles, and artifacts offer insight into the customs and lifestyles of the region’s communities. Continue to the Kohima Cathedral, a striking hilltop church that provides both spiritual calm and panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Visit the local bazaars to experience everyday life in the capital city, where vibrant markets showcase handwoven shawls, handmade crafts, and local produce. Later, visit the Kohima War Cemetery once again if desired for a quieter reflective stop, and spend the rest of the day soaking in the cultural atmosphere of the city. Overnight at hotel in Kohima.

Day 3: Kohima to Khonoma (20 kms / approx. 1 hr)

After breakfast, drive to Khonoma, India’s first green village and one of the most celebrated heritage settlements in Nagaland. The journey offers scenic views of forested hills and terraced slopes. On arrival, take a guided walk through the village, where stone houses, narrow lanes, and carefully maintained gardens reflect a strong sense of community and environmental stewardship. Visit the Khonoma Heritage Museum to learn about the village’s proud history, including its resistance against British forces and its role in preserving traditional Naga identity. Spend the evening with a local host and enjoy authentic hospitality, traditional food, and cultural interaction. Overnight stay in Khonoma.

Day 4: Khonoma Exploration

After breakfast with your host, set out for a soft trek through the Khonoma Reserve Forest, a biodiverse region rich in rare birds, medicinal plants, and native flora. Continue to the Tragopan Bird Sanctuary, where birdwatching enthusiasts may spot species such as Blyth’s tragopan and other Himalayan birds in their natural habitat. Enjoy time in the village’s terraced fields and herbal gardens, where local agricultural practices continue to reflect deep-rooted traditions. Depending on village activities, you may also witness weaving, cooking, or other cultural practices that bring the spirit of Khonoma to life. Overnight stay in Khonoma.

Day 5: Khonoma to Imphal (150 kms / approx. 4 hrs)

After breakfast, depart for Imphal, traveling through scenic hills, rivers, and remote settlements. The drive offers beautiful views of North East India’s changing landscapes and small glimpses into rural life along the way. On arrival in Imphal, check in at your hotel and relax before beginning your sightseeing. Later, visit Kangla Fort, the historic royal seat of Manipur, where ancient gates, sacred spaces, and palace ruins reflect the state’s regal past. Continue to the Manipur State Museum, which houses an impressive collection of tribal artifacts, royal relics, and historical objects. End the day at the bustling Khwairamband Bazaar and the Imphal War Cemeteries, both offering a vivid mix of local life and historical remembrance. Overnight at hotel in Imphal.

Day 6: Imphal – Keibul Lamjao National Park – Loktak Lake – Imphal (150 kms / approx. 8 hrs round trip)

After breakfast, begin a full-day excursion to Keibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park and the natural home of the endangered Sangai deer. Enjoy guided walks and wildlife viewing in this remarkable wetland ecosystem. Continue to Loktak Lake, famous for its floating phumdis and peaceful waters, where a boat ride offers a closer look at one of Manipur’s most iconic landscapes. Visit Sendra Island for panoramic lake views and a relaxing break amid nature. If time permits, continue to Moirang to explore its local heritage and historic significance before returning to Imphal by evening. Overnight at hotel in Imphal.

Day 7: Imphal Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Imphal airport according to your flight schedule. Depart with meaningful memories of tribal traditions, forest trails, mountain villages, royal heritage, and the remarkable natural beauty of Nagaland and Manipur.
