This thoughtfully crafted itinerary takes you through some of the most enchanting destinations in eastern and North Eastern India. Begin in Kolkata, a city known for its colonial landmarks, cultural depth, and lively atmosphere, before flying to Bagdogra and heading to the Himalayan hill station of Darjeeling. Continue through the peaceful landscapes of Pelling, Gangtok, and Kalimpong, where monasteries, lakes, viewpoints, and tea estates create a refreshing mountain experience. The journey then moves into Assam, where Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, Majuli Island, and Jorhat offer a rich combination of spirituality, wildlife, and tribal heritage. Day 1: Arrive in Kolkata

Upon arrival at Kolkata Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After some time to relax, begin your introduction to the city at your own pace. Kolkata, with its colonial architecture, old-world charm, and vibrant street life, offers a fitting start to this North East journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short evening walk around Park Street, known for its lively cafés, heritage buildings, and energetic atmosphere. Overnight at hotel in Kolkata.

Day 2: Kolkata Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Kolkata. Visit the Victoria Memorial, a grand white marble monument surrounded by gardens and admired for its colonial-era significance. Continue to Howrah Bridge, one of the city’s most iconic engineering landmarks, and then visit the Missionaries of Charity, where you can learn about the humanitarian legacy associated with Mother Teresa. Later, explore Eden Gardens and Kalighat Temple, both important to the city’s cultural identity. End the day at St. Paul’s Cathedral, a beautiful Gothic Revival structure that adds to Kolkata’s architectural diversity. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight at hotel in Kolkata.

Day 3: Kolkata to Darjeeling via Bagdogra (Approx. 62 km drive from Bagdogra / 3 hrs)

After breakfast, transfer to Kolkata airport for your flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, begin your scenic drive to Darjeeling, covering approximately 62 km in about 3 hours through winding roads, tea gardens, and mountain views. Darjeeling, often called the “Queen of the Hills,” welcomes you with cool air, colonial charm, and beautiful surroundings. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You may relax, enjoy a cup of local tea, or simply take in the peaceful hill station atmosphere. Day 4: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Rise early for a drive to Tiger Hill, where you will witness a breathtaking sunrise over the snow-covered peaks of Kanchenjunga. After breakfast, visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the region, followed by a ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, also known as the Toy Train. Continue to the Happy Valley Tea Estate, where you can learn about tea cultivation and sample fresh Darjeeling tea. Later, visit Batasia Loop, the Japanese Peace Pagoda, and the Darjeeling Zoo, home to rare Himalayan species such as the red panda and snow leopard. Return to the hotel after a fulfilling day. Day 5: Darjeeling to Pelling (Approx. 75 km / 4–5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, check out and drive to Pelling, a quiet hill town in Sikkim known for its mountain views and spiritual atmosphere. The route passes through scenic landscapes and offers a pleasant journey through the eastern Himalayas. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and begin sightseeing. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim’s oldest and most respected monasteries, followed by the Rabdentse Ruins, which once served as the royal capital of Sikkim. Continue to Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake believed to fulfill wishes, and then visit Kanchenjunga Falls and Singshore Bridge, both offering beautiful natural scenery. Day 6: Pelling to Gangtok (Approx. 120 km / 5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, covering approximately 120 km in about 5 hours. En route, enjoy scenic views of valleys, tea plantations, and local villages. You may also stop at Temi Tea Garden to admire the neat rows of tea bushes and learn about Sikkim’s tea heritage. On arrival in Gangtok, check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You may visit M.G. Road, a lively pedestrian street lined with shops, restaurants, and local cafés. Overnight at hotel in Gangtok.

Day 7: Gangtok Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin a full-day excursion from Gangtok. Visit Tsomgo Lake, a glacial lake surrounded by high mountain peaks and known for its serene beauty. Continue to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a shrine that holds deep local significance and attracts many visitors. Later, visit Do Drul Chorten, one of the most important Buddhist stupas in the region, and the Himalayan Zoological Park, where you may spot Himalayan species such as red pandas and snow leopards. Conclude the day with a visit to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Lal Bazaar, where local life and handicrafts create a lively ending to the day. Return to your hotel in the evening. Day 8: Gangtok to Kalimpong (Approx. 75 km / 3 hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive to Kalimpong, a charming hill town known for its monasteries, colonial heritage, and flower nurseries. The journey is scenic and relaxed, with beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin sightseeing. Visit Deolo Hill for panoramic Himalayan views, followed by Durpin Dara Viewpoint, which offers another stunning perspective of the surrounding landscape. Continue to Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery and explore the local flower nurseries, famous for orchids and exotic plants. Overnight at hotel in Kalimpong.

Day 9: Kalimpong to Bagdogra and Flight to Guwahati (Approx. 75 km / 3 hrs drive)

After breakfast, visit the Kalimpong Flower Nursery and the Kalimpong Historical Society Museum, where you can learn about the town’s history and heritage. Later, drive to Bagdogra, covering approximately 75 km in about 3 hours, for your flight to Guwahati. On arrival in Guwahati, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Day 10: Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park (Approx. 200 km / 4–5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, begin a short city tour of Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most important Shakti shrines, and then explore Umananda Temple, located on an island in the Brahmaputra River. Continue to the Assam State Museum to gain insight into the region’s art, history, and culture. After lunch, drive to Kaziranga National Park, covering approximately 200 km in about 4 to 5 hours. On arrival, check in at your jungle lodge and relax in preparation for the wildlife experience ahead. Overnight at lodge in Kaziranga.

Day 11: Kaziranga National Park Safari

Rise early for a jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its one-horned rhinoceros population. Explore the park’s grasslands, wetlands, and forested zones while looking out for rhinos, elephants, tigers, wild buffaloes, and many bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy another safari or nature activity depending on the park zone allocation and weather conditions. Kaziranga offers one of India’s finest wildlife experiences, combining adventure with natural beauty. Overnight at lodge in Kaziranga.

Day 12: Kaziranga to Majuli (Approx. 150 km / 4–5 hrs drive + ferry)

After breakfast, drive to Nimati Ghat, covering approximately 150 km in about 4 to 5 hours, and then take a ferry across the Brahmaputra River to Majuli, the world’s largest river island. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and begin exploring the island’s unique cultural landscape. Visit Vaishnavite Satras, which are traditional monastic institutions known for music, dance, and religious learning. Also experience the lifestyle of the Mishing tribal community and observe their bamboo houses, handwoven crafts, and village traditions. Overnight at lodge in Majuli.

Day 13: Majuli to Jorhat (Approx. 40 km / 1–2 hrs drive + ferry)

After breakfast, take the ferry back to Nimati Ghat and continue your drive to Jorhat, covering approximately 40 km in about 1 to 2 hours. Jorhat is known as the tea capital of Assam and offers a pleasant mix of plantation landscapes and local heritage. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the afternoon visiting nearby tea estates, where you can learn about tea production and enjoy fresh Assamese tea. You may also visit the Jorhat District Museum or simply relax in the calm surroundings. Overnight at hotel in Jorhat.

Day 14: Jorhat to Kolkata by Flight

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kolkata. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for leisure, allowing you to relax or explore the city further if time permits. Depending on your schedule, you may use the evening for last-minute shopping or a short visit to nearby attractions. Overnight at hotel in Kolkata.
