Day 1: Bhubaneswar Arrival and Sightseeing

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and a short time to relax. Begin your cultural journey with a visit to the sacred temples of Bhubaneswar, where the city’s glorious past comes alive through exquisite stone architecture and deep spiritual tradition. Explore Parasurameshwar Temple, known for its early Kalinga style; Mukteshwar Temple, celebrated for its elegant torana and detailed carvings; Rajarani Temple, admired for its sculptural beauty; and Lingaraj Temple, one of the most revered Shiva temples in Odisha. Please note that only Hindus are permitted inside the sanctum of Lingaraj Temple. Later, visit Dhauli, the historic site where Emperor Ashoka renounced violence after the Kalinga War. See the Peace Pagoda and Ashoka’s rock edicts, which reflect a powerful message of peace and governance. Continue to the Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves, where ancient Jain and Buddhist carvings reveal the artistic and religious heritage of the region. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.

Day 2: Bhubaneswar Buddhist Heritage Tour

After breakfast, set out for a full-day excursion to Odisha’s famous Buddhist heritage sites. Begin with Lalitgiri, one of the earliest Buddhist complexes in the state, featuring monastery ruins, votive stupas, and relics that reflect early Buddhist life. Continue to Ratnagiri, a significant archaeological site known for its beautifully carved Buddhist sculptures, ancient monastery remains, and remnants of a once-flourishing monastic university. Proceed to Udayagiri, another important site where ancient Buddhist and Jain influences coexist in a peaceful landscape of hills and ruins. Throughout the day, you will witness the spread of Buddhism in Odisha and the artistic legacy it left behind. Return to Bhubaneswar in the evening and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Bhubaneswar – Puri via Pipili, Raghurajpur, Konark and Chandrabhaga Beach

After breakfast, check out and drive to Puri, one of India’s most sacred and scenic coastal towns. En route, stop at Pipili, a vibrant craft village famous for its colorful appliqué work used in umbrellas, wall hangings, decorative canopies, and textiles. Continue to Raghurajpur, a heritage artisan village where almost every household is involved in the traditional art of Pattachitra painting, along with other forms of folk expression. Visit the magnificent Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s greatest architectural masterpieces, designed like a celestial chariot with intricately carved wheels, pillars, and sculptures. Also visit the serene Ramchandi Temple and Chandrabhaga Beach, where the coastal setting offers a peaceful break from sightseeing. Upon arrival in Puri, check in to the hotel. In the evening, visit the sacred Jagannath Temple area and experience the spiritual atmosphere of the town. Overnight stay at hotel in Puri.

Day 4: Puri Beach Leisure Day

After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure in Puri. Relax on the golden sandy beach, take peaceful walks along the shoreline, and enjoy the soothing sea breeze. You may spend time exploring the local surroundings, shopping for souvenirs, or tasting regional coastal cuisine. This day offers the perfect balance of rest and reflection, allowing you to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the Bay of Bengal. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay in Puri.

Day 5: Puri – Chilika Lake Excursion

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Chilika Lake, the largest coastal lagoon in India and one of the most important wetland ecosystems in the country. Enjoy a scenic boat ride across the calm waters of the lagoon, where you can observe migratory birds in their natural habitat and experience the beauty of the surrounding fishing villages and wetlands. The lake is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, making it a paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. After the boat ride, return to Puri and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Day 6: Puri – Bhubaneswar Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Bhubaneswar airport for your onward journey. As the trip concludes, you carry with you beautiful memories of Odisha’s sacred temples, Buddhist heritage, artisan villages, scenic beaches, and peaceful lagoons.
