This well-planned day tour from Chennai takes you to two of Tamil Nadu’s most significant spiritual destinations—Kanchipuram and Vellore. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Kanchipuram, renowned for its ancient temples and silk heritage. Visit prominent temples dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi and Lord Shiva, each reflecting classic Dravidian architecture. Continue your journey to Vellore, where you will explore the magnificent Golden Temple and the historic Vellore Fort. Day Tour: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Vellore – Chennai (Approx. 280 km round trip / 7–8 hrs drive)

Begin your day with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Chennai at around 7:30 AM and drive to Kanchipuram, covering approximately 75 km in about 2 hours. Known as one of the seven sacred cities of India, Kanchipuram is famous for its historic temples and spiritual significance. Upon arrival, begin the city tour with a visit to the revered Kamakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi, where you can experience the devotional atmosphere and admire the temple’s intricate architecture.

Continue to the grand Ekambareswarar Temple, one of the largest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its towering gopuram and ancient mango tree believed to be thousands of years old. Further, visit the historic Kailasanathar Temple, one of the oldest temples in the region, showcasing remarkable sandstone carvings and early Dravidian architectural style. Conclude your temple exploration with a visit to the Varadharaja Perumal Temple, an important Vishnu temple known for its impressive pillared halls and spiritual significance.

After completing the Kanchipuram sightseeing, proceed for a lunch break at a local restaurant (if included). Later, drive to Vellore, covering approximately 65 km in about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, visit the famous Sripuram Golden Temple, dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi. Walk along the star-shaped pathway leading to the temple, surrounded by landscaped gardens, and admire the temple’s stunning gold-plated structure and peaceful ambiance.

After the temple visit, continue to explore the historic Vellore Fort, a 16th-century fort known for its massive stone walls, moat, and rich historical background. Visit the Jalakandeswarar Temple located within the fort complex and take a brief walk around the fort premises to understand its architectural and historical importance.

After completing the sightseeing in Vellore, begin your return drive to Chennai, covering approximately 140 km in about 3 to 3.5 hours. Upon arrival in Chennai by evening, you will be dropped at your hotel, marking the end of a fulfilling day of spiritual and cultural exploration. Overnight not included.
