Your spiritual journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Lucknow at around 6:30 AM. Meet your driver and guide, and begin your drive to Shravasti, located approximately 170 km away (3.5–4 hours).

As you leave the city behind, the landscape gradually transforms into the serene countryside of Uttar Pradesh. Along the way, you will pass through small towns, agricultural fields, and rural settlements, offering a glimpse into everyday life in northern India. A short halt can be made en route for tea or breakfast at a local roadside restaurant.

Arrive in Shravasti by approximately 10:30–11:00 AM, where your guided exploration begins.

Start with the sacred Jetavana Monastery, one of the most important monastic complexes in Buddhist history. This was a favored residence of Lord Buddha during his visits and a place where he delivered many of his sermons. Walk through the peaceful grounds dotted with ancient ruins of meditation halls, monastic cells, and stupas. The calm environment allows you to truly connect with the spiritual essence of the site.

Continue to the revered Anandabodhi Tree, believed to have been grown from a sapling of the original Bodhi Tree in Bodhgaya. This sacred tree holds deep significance as a place of meditation and reflection. Spend a few quiet moments here, absorbing the tranquility and spiritual energy that defines Shravasti.

Next, visit Gandhakuti, the site believed to be Lord Buddha’s personal dwelling during his stay in Jetavana. Though now in ruins, this structure holds immense historical and religious importance. Your guide will narrate stories of Buddha’s daily life, teachings, and the miracles associated with this sacred location.

By around 1:30 PM, proceed for a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy simple and authentic North Indian or vegetarian cuisine, offering a refreshing pause before continuing your exploration.

After lunch, continue to explore the archaeological remains of Sahet and Mahet, the ancient twin cities of Shravasti.
