This 5-day spiritual journey through Maharashtra is designed for travelers seeking a deep connection with India’s sacred heritage. Beginning in Mumbai, the tour takes you to Nashik, one of the holiest cities in India, followed by Aurangabad, home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Ellora and Ajanta Caves. Visit two revered Jyotirlingas—Trimbakeshwar and Grishneshwar—before heading to the tranquil hills of Bhimashankar for the third Jyotirlinga. Along the way, explore historical monuments like Bibi Ka Maqbara and ancient cave temples, making this itinerary a perfect combination of devotion, architecture, and history.

 

Day 1: Mumbai – Nashik (Approx. 170 km / 4–5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Mumbai or the airport and begin your drive to Nashik, a city renowned for its spiritual significance and association with the Ramayana. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax. Later, begin the temple visit with Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its unique three-faced lingam representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Continue your exploration with a visit to Panchvati, an important religious area associated with Lord Rama. Visit Kalaram Temple, Sita Gufa, and Kapileswara Temple, each holding deep mythological significance. After completing the sightseeing, return to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Nashik.


Day 2: Nashik – Aurangabad (Approx. 220 km / 5–6 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Aurangabad. En route, begin your visit to the magnificent Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring rock-cut temples representing Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions. Explore the intricate carvings, especially the famous Kailasa Temple, a marvel of monolithic architecture. Continue your journey with a visit to Grishneshwar Temple, another sacred Jyotirlinga known for its exquisite carvings and spiritual importance. Upon arrival in Aurangabad, check in at your hotel. Day 3: Aurangabad – Ajanta – Aurangabad (Approx. 210 km round trip / 5–6 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, begin a full-day excursion to the world-famous Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves and exquisite murals dating back to the 2nd century BCE. Begin the cave exploration and admire the beautifully preserved paintings and sculptures depicting the life of Lord Buddha. After sightseeing, return to Aurangabad and begin a short city tour. Visit Bibi Ka Maqbara, often referred to as the “Mini Taj Mahal,” known for its Mughal-style architecture. After the visit, return to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Aurangabad.


Day 4: Aurangabad – Bhimashankar (Approx. 280 km / 6–7 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin your drive to Bhimashankar, located in the Sahyadri Hills. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax amidst the serene natural surroundings. Later, begin the temple visit to Bhimashankar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, known for its tranquil setting and traditional Nagara-style architecture. The temple is surrounded by dense forests and is part of the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, offering a peaceful spiritual experience. After darshan, return to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Bhimashankar.


Day 5: Bhimashankar – Mumbai (Approx. 200 km / 5–6 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin your drive back to Mumbai. En route, begin your visit to the ancient Karla Caves and Bhaja Caves, known for their impressive rock-cut architecture, Buddhist prayer halls, and intricate carvings dating back to ancient times. After completing the sightseeing, continue your drive to Mumbai. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your spiritual journey.
